Angela M. Odom is a retired U.S. Army Colonel, children's author, educator, and community leader who has dedicated her career to helping children and the adults who support them thrive. As the founder of the Bullying, Literacy & Leadership Experience and creator of the Landon Learns children's book series, she equips adults with practical tools they can immediately use to recognize bullying, strengthen literacy, build confidence, and develop leadership.
After years of working with children, families, schools, and community organizations, Angela recognized a common challenge: adults want to help children navigate bullying, build confidence, and develop leadership skills—but many have never been given practical tools to do so.
Through her books, educational programs, and now the Bullying, Literacy, & Leadership Experience, Angela equips parents, educators, caregivers, and youth leaders with strategies they can use immediately to help children become stronger readers, confident leaders, and resilient young people.
Why I Created BLLX
I created the Bullying, Literacy & Leadership Experience because I believe children deserve adults who know how to help.
I wrote the Landon Learns children's book series with my nieces, nephews, and the children I love in mind.
I wanted to give their parents and the other adults in their lives practical tools to help them navigate bullying, build confidence, strengthen literacy, and develop leadership.
Then I realized the books were only the beginning.
Adults needed more than information: they needed practical tools, meaningful conversations, opportunities to practice, and strategies they could begin using immediately.
That's why I created the Bullying, Literacy & Leadership Experience.

Judge McFarlane
Juvenile Court Judge | Trial Attorney | Community Leader
Judge Nailah McFarlane is a respected jurist, trial attorney, and community leader who has served families in Fayette County for more than a decade. She began her legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in Fulton County before founding The Law Firm of Grant & Associates, LLC., where she represented clients in criminal defense, personal injury, and family law.
Appointed to the bench in 2014, Judge McFarlane has served in Municipal, Magistrate, State, and Juvenile Courts, as well as by designation in Superior Court. Her diverse experience as a prosecutor, defense attorney, civil litigator, and judge gives her a balanced perspective and a deep commitment to fairness, accountability, and integrity in the justice system.
When Bullying Behaviors Spill Beyond the Classroom: A Youth Court Judge’s Perspective
What happens when behavior commonly described as “bullying” moves beyond a school disciplinary matter?
Judge Nailah McFarlane will help attendees examine bullying behaviors through the lens of a Youth Court Judge.
Through practical examples and interactive scenarios, attendees will explore how threats, physical aggression, intimidation, harassment, unwanted contact, property damage, and technology-based conduct may change how an incident is understood and addressed.
You’ll consider:
What happened? What might this conduct be called? What facts matter? When might additional intervention be necessary?
You’ll leave better equipped to document concerns, ask informed questions, recognize when an incident may require escalation, and advocate for and protect children.
